PPLE’s Talent Development Programme

LEARN. GROW. ENGAGE.

OUR PURPOSE

TDP seeks to connect PPLE’s academic content with real world contexts, through events and workshops ranging from technical skills to professional talks to community engagement events. We try to create spaces in which students can apply the knowledge they gain in their multidisciplinary courses to their future, in order to have the fullest experience of PPLE they possibly can.

MORE ABOUT TDP

Who are we?

The Talent Development Programme (TDP) of the University of Amsterdam was founded at the inception of the Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics College at the University of Amsterdam, comprised of students in this course, we originate from a variety of countries. We combine our creative and organizational skills to create fulfilling workshops and events for PPLE students to develop their talents and interests. We are in the process right now of becoming a foundation, and soon will be! Stay tuned for more information.

What is our mission?

No one is defined by their studies alone. Interests, skills, and personalities reach beyond the PPLE curriculum. The Talent Development Programme challenges students to develop and perform beyond academia in two ways. On the one hand, TDP provides students with extracurricular learning opportunities through workshops and events. On the other hand, we invite students to put up their own initiative. What valuable contribution can you make? Think of networking events, a student job market, workshops on emotional intelligence or public speaking, a scholarship fund; the sky is the limit. Students setting up an initiative learn in the process and other students benefit from these initiatives.

What do we do?

We hold initiatives to help PPLE students and our community thrive in the best possible ways. We help students navigate the job market and the world of interviews, internships and academia, in order for them to develop their full potential. We also aim to create non-academic events in fields that students care about to broaden our peer’s horizons and further their interests outside of PPLE; to do so, we are a platform for PPLE students to learn to create and plan events.

How can you get involved?

We want PPLE students to not only attend TDP events, but also to engage in the community. This is why TDP offers various opportunities for students to get involved. Our Student Initiative programme provides a platform for students to organize their own events and help each other in the process. With our support and, most importantly, their entrepreneurial spirit they can become more skilled individuals and embark on a journey to their future careers. Do you feel like you have an idea for an event, workshop or something entirely different that you think others would benefit from? You can get involved with TDP by filling out this form, we will gladly meet with you to discuss your ideas! Another way to get involved is to volunteer with TDP. Sometimes the events we hold are quite large and require extra help. This is a perfect opportunity to get behind the scenes of organizing an event or workshop.

“TDP OFFERS ME CREATIVE AND INSIGHTFUL WORKSHOPS THAT ARE A BREAK FROM THE STRESSES OF UNI LIFE & CHALLENGES ME IN A NEW WAY”
